Hey people,
I know I haven't blogged in a while so I decided to finally take some time to write about a topic which has always been kept inside of me.
When we as people meet other individuals for the first time, we start a conversation which leads to talking about each other’s lives, jobs, families and etc. Then the person who you are engaging with asks you a very innocent question, "Well so where are you from?", and we would obviously answer it as our nationality.
I’ve always wondered if people could answer that question and influence equality at the same time. There are so many inequalities present in this world which influence discrimination and prejudice.

I’ve always wondered if people could answer that question and influence equality at the same time. There are so many inequalities present in this world which influence discrimination and prejudice.
Judgements which occur in the world due to differences amongst people, whether they are related to sex, ethnicity or sense of style, can often be deemed as offensive to many individuals.
From my perspective, everyone is equal; thus differences such as religion, culture or background should not influence people to make biased judgements of other people. In our world today, many wars and stereotypes emerge from simple judgements. I remember this one girl in my school who had a grudge against people from India. She said that "brown people" often smell like tumeric and don't wash their hands. For about two months, people decided to "avoid" me and other individuals from India because of what that girl had stated. Truth be told, when someone declares a stereotypical idea, many people tend to follow it. It's the human mind set, what can we do about it?
I often find my own self judging people on what other's see them to be. I know it's wrong and is hard to avoid.
I really think that even though it is the natural habit of human beings to judge, decide a person's belonging in the society, and accept people, it is also possible for human beings to diminish the inequality present amongst themselves. Simple gestures such as viewing everyone equally can help the world and it's future.
So what if all of us don't eat the same foods, dress the same, walk the same? We are ALL the same no matter how different we are. The thing which unites us all is our own uniqueness. If everyone was the same in every possible way, there would be NO variety or diversity present in the world. In other words, BORING.
In many countries of the world, women are often treated brutally because they are not men. They are often married to older males, and left to fend for themselves when their partner passes away. Is it a crime to be a woman in today's society which is continuously being innovated with all the latest technology? Truly, what is the real point in progressing towards a better future when our mind is still living in the 17th century?
Child labour is still part of the world, even though everyday millions of dollars are being invested in worthless commercials which carry no point at all. Why can this money be invested into sending these children to school, from which the future can benefit as well? Imagine a world in which everyone was literate, the economy, the society and the lives of people would be positively booming.
In my opinion, if people are well educated, they tend to look at the benefits for all individuals and they tend to think rationally.
Of course what I see is truly a far off thought; however I believe that social discrimination can be eliminated if everyone influences equality in their daily schedule.
Maybe next time when someone asks you where you are from, you can simply answer by saying, "I am from earth."
